I believe listening to faith-based music is one of the best ways I, personally, feel connected to God. Below are four songs I listen to pretty much on a daily basis right now, along with a sampling of some of the lyrics. Each of these speaks to me in a different way.
You Say by Lauren Daigle
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know (ooh oh)
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
Reckless Love by Cory Asbury
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath, You breathed Your life in me
You have been so, so kind to me
Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it, and I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God, yeah
Let Them See You by Colton Dixon
Take away the melodies
Take away the songs I sing
Take away all the light
And all the songs you let me write
As the man I am today
Say the words you need to say
Let them see You in me
Let them hear You when I speak
Let them feel You when I sing
Let them see You, let them see You in me
Different by Micah Tyler
I don’t wanna hear anymore, teach me to listen
I don’t wanna see anymore, give me a vision
That you could move this heart, to be set apart
I don’t need to recognize, the man in the mirror
And I don’t wanna trade Your plan, for something familiar
I can’t waste a day, I can’t stay the same
I wanna be different
I wanna be changed
‘Til all of me is gone
And all that remains
Is a fire so bright
The whole world can see
That there’s something different
So come and be different
In me!
I love this! Music speaks so deep into my soul!! Thanks for this!
